This blog is inspired by an essay my son had to write for school. He had to write a commentary on a poem in which hope was compared to a bird and its feathers. It originated some deeper thoughts about the concept that I would like to share with you. Especially now that we rely so much on hope to pull us through hard and challenging times.

Hope is something immaterial, something hard to grasp and to nail down. It appears when you least expect it, in the darkest places and the most desperate situations or in the most desolate places.

Hope is like a bird when it comes flying by, through the wind and the storm, dropping a feather here and there, like a nearly undetectable breeze, a soft whistle in the air. A first indication of the possible wind of change.

Think about it. Hope is the last to die and is the first sign of something new, change and beautiful things. It is like a bird giving hope of the presence of land for a boat lost at sea like in the story of the Arch of Noah. It is like the dove carrying an olive branch đź•Š in times of war and despair.

What a beautiful concept… this idea that no matter how dark it seems and how terrible, hope creates the chance for re-birth and another chance, a new day.

There is always hope ❤️ people!
