Dear Friends,

It is nearly May and summer’s already on my mind!!!

I am excited to release my ambitious summer plans to you before I put it out there in the public.

First of all, we’re building an additional space in our garden to facilitate a bigger variety of courses with greater comfort. Hopefully it will be finalised in May.

SUMMER COURSES

This summer I’ll be teaching summer classes for who wants to deep dive into pottery with an intensive course on the wheel.

The summer courses will consist of 4 session of which 3 sessions are to be spent on the wheel: throwing, trimming turning and some decoration techniques and a fourth session dedicated to glazing.

The wheel sessions will comprise three 2-hour long sessions starting on Wednesday, through Thursday and ending on Friday of the same week. This will allow people with a day job to register without taking too many holidays for this creative journey.

I will be teaching you how to centre the clay, use different tools, how to throw different shapes and I will introduce you to a couple of decoration or altering techniques. You will be selecting three of your best pieces to be fired at the end of the three throwing sessions.

The course will be tailored to your individual skill level as you will be taught in small groups (maximum 4 people) and there is space for personal one-on-one approach for each and everybody in the group. You’ll be amazed by what you’ll be pulling off in only a few days!

A fourth session will be held in the evening in the weeks following the end of the course. At this stage the pieces will be bisque fired and ready to glaze.

I have a very large selection of glazes to choose from in all colours. Most colours allow the daily use of your pieces including the use of them in the dishwasher and microwave oven.

Like all of my courses, there is special attention to creating a calm, friendly and safe environment with a special attention to self-care and mental health.

Courses will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 10-12. The glazing will be done on an evening from 6-7:30.

Dates:

-June 14,15,16th from 10-12am and Tuesday evening June 27 from 6-7:30
